CTC Volunteer Instructors bring diverse professional experience, knowledge and expertise from illustrious careers in human resources, recruiting, management, training, leadership development, and coaching in financial services, healthcare, education, not-for-profit, government sectors. In addition, many possess coaching certification from the International Coach Federation (ICF) approved institutions such as the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), iPEC and Fielding.

Kristen Covington is the Managing Account Executive on the Public Company Liability Team at Travelers in Chicago. In her role, she builds strategy driven solutions for brokers and clients in the public company space while overseeing, coaching, and training a team of underwriters. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago and Masters from Northwestern University. Kristen’s specialties include creating short and long-term actionable career goals, resume development, interview preparation, and industry transitioning.

Jane is a Licensed Psychologist, certified coach, certified yoga instructor, and healthcare professional with 30+ years of experience. In her current position as a program/project manager and change manager at a Fortune 500 global health company, she is a known leader who drives innovative ideas from concept to successful execution and ensures acceptance of organizational change. She also provides leadership coaching. In 2022, Jane won the Annual CEO Stand out award for development and delivery of a stress management and resilience program.
Prior to her current position, Jane has worked as a therapist, management consultant, clinical supervisor, operations leader, and clinical account manager. Outside of work, Jane is the proud mother of 2 daughters. She loves to garden, cook, hike, teach yoga, and travel.

Marty spent more than twenty years in the advertising and marketing industries with the majority of his career at Leo Burnett in account management. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time chasing after his twins. Marty holds a BS in advertising from the University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana as well as an MEd in higher education from Loyola University Chicago.

His background includes a 15 year career at Harpo Studios running the post-production operation for The Oprah Winfrey Show followed by 7 years at ad agency DDB Chicago overseeing in-house production/post in support of major Fortune 500 brands.

Later as a client and with guidance from CTC, Dave pivoted to launch DLVisuals, switching gears toward entrepreneurial, start-ups and established small businesses. Colleen works for Beam Suntory whose products include the World’s Number 1 Bourbon Whiskey, Jim Beam. She is working to integrate change management practices into everyone’s ways of working at Bean Suntory.

Colleen is a huge advocate of networking and makes networking part of her every day. Being open to others, getting to know them, working to understand their point of view and learning from them is what she does.

Jill O’Mahony Stewart is an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University’s College of Communication. She has also taught at the School for Continuing and Professional Studies [formerly School for New Learning] at DePaul. She has been a public relations consultant and owner of a boutique firm, Stewart Communications Ltd., since 1986. She is a past co-president of the Publicity Club of Chicago, and a former board member and client of CTC. She is a graduate of Allegheny College and holds an M.S. from Boston University in public relations and an M.A. from DePaul University’s School for New Learning.

Amy Pitta

Amy is a trained personal and executive coach (ACPEC) focusing on leadership, career, and transition coaching with a focus on discovering personal strengths, values, and purpose. She partners with clients to explore new possibilities and design ways to reach new goals. She incorporates a coaching style that is highly approachable, gentle but direct, creative, and utilizes humor. She holds coaching certifications from both the International Coach Federation (ACC) and the National Center for Credentialing in Education (BCC).


Amy is also a trained psychologist with a doctorate (PsyD) in clinical psychology. She holds a B.A. in History and a M.A. in Community Psychology, and previously worked for the American Psychological Association. Amy has a lengthy history of volunteering and community involvement thanks to her husband’s military service, which has allowed her a variety of experiences ranging from language tutor to nonprofit lead to international treasurer, in locations around the world.

With an emphasis on the whole person, she helps professionals lead with greater wellbeing, clarity, and empowerment. As a group coach, Kate provides safe and courageous spaces for leaders to turn within and grow alongside one another. In addition to individual and group coaching, Kate presents engaging and motivational workshops and facilitation for mission-driven organizations. Kate is a former CTC client and served as a coach from 2017-2021.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Science and is an AmeriCorps alumnus. She is a Certified Professional Coach with the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. She also serves as a Lake County Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster children. Recently, Kate has published numerous articles on work-life balance, empowerment and battling perfectionism. She recently recorded a meditation for the Insight Timer App and was a guest on The Flourish Careers Podcast.

When not coaching, Kate loves dancing, traveling near and far, and sharing food and laughs with loved ones.

She has been a teacher of mindfulness-based stress reduction for the past 10 years and offered instruction to a multitude of individuals and groups throughout Chicago (via Zoom) during the
pandemic. Deb earned her certification through the Brown School of Public Health.
