Our Focus

The Career Transitions Center of Chicago's (CTC) mission is to empower unemployed professionals in Chicago to find meaningful work.

CTC is a volunteer-driven, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing professional assistance to individuals in career and employment transition.  CTC also provides outplacement and customized training for incumbent workers.

CTC was founded in 1997 by five faith communities:

  • Chicago Temple (United Methodist)
  • Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago
  • Holy Name Cathedral (Roman Catholic)
  • Old Saint Patrick's Church (Roman Catholic)
  • Saint Chrysostom Church (Episcopal)

Their purpose was to provide support to underemployed and unemployed professionals and recent college graduates who otherwise could not afford comprehensive job placement services. While CTC receives support from faith communities, it is not a faith-based organization.

Today, CTC represents an alignment of academic institutions, faith communities, and businesses concerned with supporting people in their search for meaningful employment and sustainable success. See our current sponsors

Since 1997, CTC has served over 10,000 job seekers int he Chicagoland area.
